Relocating to new premises or changes to factory layouts can have very damaging effects on your business. We plan all aspects of the move, working with the Sales Team to plan stock build requirements, your Engineering Team and external resources, to ensure that you complete the move on time, within budget and without your Customers noticing any difference.
We stepped in to rescue a poorly planned factory relocation project. The in-house Team had failed to consider additional power requirements, warehousing capacity and internal transport needs. The project was running seriously behind schedule and Customer orders were seriously overdue. We reassessed the project plan, produced revised budget and timescale and project managed the operation. Working throughout the Christmas and New Year closure period, we brought the project back on track and managed Customer expectations. Overcome problems of a seasonal sales based business by introducing counter cyclical product range.
We planned, budgeted and project managed a consolidation programme, requiring the closure of two manufacturing plants and transferring the capacity to four other units, throughout the UK. This involved forecasting and managing a stock build policy, temporary product outsourcing and staff recruitment and training, in addition to the actual relocation project.
